Let's JAM!

Been A Long Time Since I Rock and Rolled

Lately I have shifted a lot of my focus from computers, technology, and blogging to cars, music, guitar, and girls (holy dates, Bat Man!). Ill try to update my blog with some of the car projects I've been working on (video of rebuilding a starter, etc.), some musical theories and songs I've written. Needless to say, I am always working on something. I'll just start being more active with my postings on what I've done.

Now that is out of the way, I want to talk about why having a broad but deep knowledge "lake" is a good thing. By "broad and deep" I mean, know a little about a lot, but specialize too. Why is this important? It allows one to understand a variety of topics, speeches, and to have intelligent discussions about a range of things.

Being specialized is also a good thing. Society needs people to be specialized to allow for advanced things to be created. If all you are is a jack of all trades, you can't go something amazingly well. One of the things I ask people who ask me about getting a job at Kynetx is, "What do you do amazing?" Employers want people who do amazing things. If your talent is something that company can use, they want you as an employee.

Be amazing. Be knowledgeable in a variety of things. Learn as much as you possibly can. When doing these things you will be an amazing employee, entrepreneur, or anything else you aspire to be. Be sure to have a broad but deep knowledge lake.
